C3 Elementary School
Shapes & Space Workshop
In 2014, our founders Tyler & Monica Aiello, were in residence at C3: Creativity, Challenge, Community - a new innovation school in Denver. They launched their Shapes & Space curriculum as visiting artists with rave reviews. The Aiellos loved working in tandem with school staff, teachers and parents developing an innovative STEAM program to address K-3 Common Core math standards in the art classroom. Students explored shapes as seen on Earth, in space and on robotic space missions through many exciting art activities. Throughout, storytelling and collaboration were emphasized as the school community united for an rich and encompassing experience. The program culminated with a Family Night where students became teachers and an exhibition at ArtHaus Gallery to celebrate the efforts of all. Shapes & Space was supported by the Colorado Creative Industries stART grant and the La Napoule Art Foundation.
